Why should I choose Baphat Travel??

We are experts for traveling in the Africa-Europe region and we can offer you a truly unique and culturally immersive experience. All offered tours have been pre-tested by us and are led by the best local guides we could find in Africa. We are a small company and passionate to offer the best experience for you. You can read more about the advantages of traveling with us here. Some testimonials of our clients you can find on our Facebook page or on Tripadvisor.

Do I need travel insurance??

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory for all our travelers. You may choose an insurance provider of your choice, but make sure it includes cover against personal accidents, medical expenses, death, and emergency repatriation. We recommend a minimum coverage of $100,000 for each category. We strongly advise you that it covers also cancellation, personal liability, curtailment, loss of luggage and personal effects. If you do not know which insurance to take, we recommend this one: www.worldnomads.com

Is Africa safe to travel??

Overall Africa can be regarded as a safe destination for travelers. That said, you are advised to wear a money belt, watch your belongings, avoid dark streets at night and take only official taxis. Your safety is our first priority at Baphat Travel; we know and regularly assess all our African partners and we closely monitor political events.

How can I avoid health problems in Africa?

Do not drink water, unless it is bottled, filtered or boiled. Do not use tap water for brushing teeth or making ice either. Do not eat ice cream. Only eat well-cooked meat and fish – preferably served hot. Vegetables should be cooked and fruit peeled. If you follow these basic rules, you are likely to avoid any health issues like traveler’s diarrhea. There are no compulsory vaccinations, but Diphtheria, Hepatitis A and Tetanus are recommended. Ensure you are fully insured for medical emergencies including repatriation. Medical services in Central Asia are basic at best.

How much money should I bring to Africa?

Africa economies are largely cash based. Except for some western shops and high-end restaurants and hotels it is almost impossible to pay by credit card. Even withdrawing money at an ATM is difficult outside of the biggest cities. Since our tour price includes all major costs you likely do not need to spend much money during your trip. We recommend bringing with you all money that you expect to use in new USD or EUR bank notes with different denominations – wrinkled and small notes are harder to exchange, but small notes can be used sometimes to pay for souvenirs. An emergency fund of around 500 USD in cash is always good to have during guided trips to Africa. For more info on money and costs visit the destination pages for the different countries on our website.

SHow and when do I need to pay for the tour?

As soon as we receive your booking enquiry we will send you an invoice for a non-refundable deposit payment of 500 EUR/ USD/ CHF/ GBP per person. With your deposit payment your booking is confirmed and your seat on the tour reserved. The remaining amount will be due no later than 30 days before the start of the tour.

What are the cancellation terms?

If you cancel some or all portions of your booking, cancellation fees will apply. A cancelation will only be effective when we receive written confirmation of the cancellation. We strongly advise you to include cancellation coverage in your travel insurance. If you cancel a trip:

Deposit of 500 EUR/USD/CHF etc is non-refundable. 30 days or more prior to departure, we will retain only the deposit.
Between 20 and 30 days prior to departure, we will retain 50% of the total booking value.
Less than 20 days prior to departure, we will retain 100% of the total booking value.
Please read carefully our General Terms and Conditions before booking the tour: https://baphattravels.com/terms-and-conditions/
